The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially released its full schedule for congresses and National Convention as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
In a timetable issued by the APC National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, the ruling party announced that the process will kick off with the issuance of notices for Ward and Local Government Congresses on February 2, 2026. This will be followed by the sale and submission of nomination forms from February 4 to February 9, 2026.
Ward Congresses are scheduled to hold nationwide on February 18, 2026, while Local Government Congresses will take place two days later, on February 20, 2026. Appeals arising from both the Ward and Local Government Congresses will be considered between February 21 and February 22, 2026.
According to the timetable, State Congresses will be conducted on March 7, 2026, after which Zonal Congresses across the six geopolitical zones of the country will hold on March 21, 2026.
The entire process will culminate in the APC National Convention, scheduled to take place from March 25 to March 28, 2026.
The convention is expected to produce the party’s national leadership and formally conclude its internal electoral process ahead of the 2027 polls.
Party stakeholders see the release of the timetable as a key step toward strengthening internal democracy and positioning the APC for the upcoming general elections.
