The Super Eagles have officially begun preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, opening their training camp at the Renaissance Hotels in Cairo, Egypt on Sunday. The camp marks the start of an intensive buildup ahead of the continental tournament.
All coaching and support staff were on site early, ensuring that technical, administrative, and logistical arrangements were in place before the players’ arrival a move that underscores the team’s commitment to professional preparation.
Goalkeeper Francis Uzoho was the first to arrive, touching down shortly after 2:00 a.m. local time. “His early arrival set a tone of discipline and dedication that the coaching staff hopes will be mirrored across the squad,” officials noted. Fellow goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali followed, allowing focused training to begin immediately.
Midfielders Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Ebenezer Akinsanmiro joined soon after, with six additional players including Igoh Ogbu, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Tochukwu Nnadi, Amas Obasogie, Ademola Lookman, and Semi Ajayi expected later in the evening as the squad continues to assemble for AFCON 2025.
