Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has defended the 17 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking to journalists on Friday during an inspection of the Maitama–Gishiri–Jahi–Gwarimpa interchange project in Abuja, Wike said the lawmakers acted within their rights, noting that every politician is free to make personal political decisions.
He added that their decision should be seen as part of the democratic process rather than a cause for controversy.
