Police operatives in Kebbi State on Saturday repelled a bandits’ attack on Zodi community in Zuru Local Government Area, killing several of the attackers and recovering rustled cattle and sheep.
Spokesperson of the Kebbi State Police Command, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, said officers from the No. 36 Police Mobile Force (PMF) Squadron, Birnin Kebbi, responded swiftly to a distress call from the community.
He said the operatives engaged the bandits in a fierce gun duel, leading to the death of many, while others escaped into the forest with gunshot wounds.
Abubakar added that the fleeing bandits abandoned the bodies of their dead members as well as the stolen livestock.
He assured residents of continued security operations to protect communities across the state.
