The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied reports suggesting that Governor Dauda Lawal plans to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.
In a statement, the party’s Publicity Secretary, Malam Yusuf Idris, described the defection claims as false and misleading.
He said the report—allegedly circulated by an unverified source—was fabricated and intended to cause confusion and disrupt party stability.
Idris emphasized that the APC follows formal channels for official communications and confirmed that no defection letter has been received from Governor Lawal. He also stated that the party is unaware of any intention by the governor to leave the PDP.
The APC urged its members and the general public, particularly in Zamfara State, to disregard the report.
