The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a planned power outage affecting several parts of Abuja due to scheduled maintenance work.
In a statement issued on Saturday, TCN said the outage is a result of maintenance on the 60MVA 132/33kV transformer (TR1) and associated switchgear at the Apo Transmission Substation. The exercise is scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
During this period, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to receive bulk power supply, leading to temporary electricity disruption in Gudu District, Gaduwa, Durumi, Printing and Minting, Garki, and surrounding areas.
TCN assured residents that electricity supply would be fully restored immediately after the maintenance work is completed. The company also apologized for the inconvenience and advised affected consumers to make necessary arrangements.
