The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has commended Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, for swiftly repairing the damaged perimeter fence and upgrading key facilities at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Wailo, Ganjuwa Local Government Area.
The commendation was delivered by the state NYSC Coordinator, Mr.
Umoren Kufre, during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream One corps members.
He described the collapsed fence as a serious security threat that had left parts of the camp exposed to possible intrusion.
According to Kufre, the governor’s intervention also included the renovation of corps members’ hostels and the construction of a new multipurpose hall, significantly improving living and training conditions at the camp.
Governor Mohammed, in his address, reaffirmed that the core mission of the NYSC scheme is to promote national unity and integration.
He urged corps members to make productive use of the orientation period and justify the confidence placed in them by the nation.
The governor further pledged to construct staff accommodation, a clinic, and other essential facilities, assuring continued government support for the comfort and safety of both corps members and NYSC officials.
A total of 2,050 corps members were posted to Bauchi State for the 2026 service year, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
