The Lagos State Police Command has arrested popular TikToker, Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, following a viral video showing him driving recklessly during a live stream, an act authorities say endangered public safety.
The incident, which occurred on Sunday, December 14, 2025, reportedly led to a dangerous road crash and serious motor accident. Police described the action as a deliberate attempt to harm himself while putting other road users at risk.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, December 16, the Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed that the case is under investigation by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID). She added that Peller will be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, warned social media influencers and content creators against using online platforms to promote reckless or unlawful behaviour, stressing that such acts will attract the full weight of the law. The police also urged motorists to strictly obey traffic regulations to ensure public safety.
