Gunmen Abduct Former Ogun Lawmaker During Mosque Prayers

Gunmen have abducted Maruf Musa, a former member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, in Ibiade, Ogun Waterside Local Government Area. The incident occurred on Tuesday night while Musa was observing prayers at a mosque within his residence.

Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants fired shots into the air to scare residents before taking the former lawmaker, who represented Ogun Waterside constituency during the sixth assembly (2007–2011).

The Ogun State Police Command confirmed the abduction. Police spokesperson, Babaseyi Boluwatife, said security agencies have launched a manhunt and deployed the anti-kidnapping unit to secure Musa’s release. Residents have been urged to remain calm as investigations and rescue efforts continue.
