The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the start of orientation and education sessions for 2026 Hajj pilgrims. The first training phase will run on January 10–11, 2026 at the FCT Permanent Hajj Camp in Basan Jiwa (near Abuja’s international airport). Islamic scholars have been mobilized to guide the pilgrims through the rites of Hajj.
These orientation sessions will be delivered in phases and in seven languages, covering the Hajj rituals and new regulations introduced by Saudi authorities and Nigeria’s Hajj commission.

Mandatory Medical Screening
Health Screening: Mandatory medical check-ups begin Jan 12, 2026 at the Basan Jiwa Hajj Camp (starting 8 a.m. each day).
Screening is organized by area council:
Jan 12: Pilgrims from Gwagwalada, Kwali, Abaji
Jan 13: Pilgrims from Kuje, Bwari, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC)
Jan 14: Pilgrims registered through FCT Headquarters, Jaiz Islamic Bank, and Abuja Annexe
Compliance: Completing the medical screening is required for obtaining a Saudi Hajj visa.
The board warned that pilgrims who skip the health checks will jeopardize their visa processing.
All intending pilgrims must also return any outstanding application forms or passports immediately to allow the board to process travel documents.
