Delta Police Bust Armed Gang, Recover AK-47 in Fresh Oghara Raid

The Delta State Police Command has recorded another major win in its crackdown on armed criminal gangs in Oghara and nearby communities.

In a follow-up operation on November 25, 2025, officers of the CP-Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT), led by ASP Julius Robinson, arrested two additional suspects, 38-year-old Justice Ikutu and 55-year-old Peter Okomeje at separate locations in Oghara.
The raid came after the arrest of confessed cultists and the recovery of a pump-action gun on November 24.

A search of the home of one associate, identified as Peter Kome, led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle fitted with a double magazine and other items linked to cultism and armed robbery.

Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, applauded the CP-SAT team for its swift, coordinated action and urged residents to stay alert and continue providing useful intelligence to support ongoing security efforts in Delta State.
