Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has placed his planned defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on indefinite hold following the abduction of 25 students from Government Girls’ Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, in Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The governor, who was expected to make his official move to the APC this week, reportedly suspended all related political activities in response to the tragic development.
Government sources say Kefas described this period as one that demands national focus, empathy, and solidarity, not political celebrations.
Security agencies and state governments across the region have been expressing concern over the rising spate of school abductions, with the Taraba governor insisting that leadership must show sensitivity in moments of national distress.
More details are expected as the state government issues an official statement.
