BREAKING: 38 Abducted Worshippers Rescued in Kwara

The Presidency has confirmed the successful rescue of all 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, following a coordinated security operation led by Nigeria’s defence and intelligence agencies.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, had cancelled his scheduled trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa to personally oversee and coordinate national security efforts in response to the recent wave of kidnappings.

According to the President, the joint operation carried out over the last few days resulted in the safe recovery of the abducted worshippers without major casualties. “Thanks to the efforts of our security forces over the last few days, all 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State have been rescued,” the President said.

He also announced progress in other parts of the country, noting that 51 out of the missing students from a Catholic school in Niger State had also been recovered.

President Tinubu emphasized that he remains in constant communication with frontline commanders across affected states, receiving real-time updates and issuing strategic directives aimed at stabilizing the security situation nationwide.

Reassuring citizens, the President maintained a firm stance on national safety, stating, “Let me be clear, I will not relent. Every Nigerian, in every state, has the right to safety and under my watch, we will secure this nation and protect our people.”

Security agencies have urged communities to cooperate with ongoing operations as efforts continue to track and dismantle criminal networks across the country
