The All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally welcomed the Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, into its fold following his defection to the ruling party.
In a statement issued on behalf of the National Working Committee and the entire APC family, the party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yiltwatda, described Governor Mutfwang’s decision as a bold, patriotic, and people-oriented move aimed at advancing the development of Plateau State and Nigeria at large.According to Prof. Nentawe, Mutfwang’s registration with the APC represents more than a political realignment, noting that it symbolises hope, unity, and a commitment to a shared vision of inclusive development, peace, and prosperity for Plateau State.
“Today’s registration is a statement of hope and a commitment to a shared vision of inclusive development, peace, and prosperity for Plateau State,” the APC chairman said.
He assured the Plateau governor of full acceptance and cooperation within the party, stressing that the APC leadership is ready to work closely with him to strengthen the party’s presence in the state and deliver tangible dividends of democracy to the people.“We receive you with open arms and a deep sense of partnership, and I assure you of our collective resolve to work closely with you, hand in hand, to advance the interests of Plateau State, strengthen our party, and deliver meaningful dividends of democracy to our people,” Nentawe added.
The defection of Governor Mutfwang is expected to reshape the political landscape of Plateau State, with analysts predicting a significant boost for the APC ahead of future electoral contests.
The APC chairman concluded by warmly welcoming the governor, describing his entry into the party as a homecoming and a strategic addition to the progressive family.
