APC Panel Disqualifies Seven Osun Governorship Aspirants

An All Progressives Congress (APC) Screening Committee has disqualified seven governorship aspirants in Osun State for failing to meet key nomination requirements ahead of the party’s 2025 primary election.

In its report to the National Working Committee (NWC), the panel stated that the affected aspirants did not secure the mandatory sponsorship signatures from five financially up-to-date party members in each of the 30 local government areas as required by the APC Constitution and Primary Guidelines.

Those disqualified include:

  • Benedict Olugboyega Alabi
  • Adegoke Rasheed Okiki Adekunle

The committee also raised concerns about persistent internal divisions within the Osun APC, warning that a fractured structure could undermine the credibility of the primary and sabotage victory in the governorship election.

It recommended immediate reconciliation and equitable distribution of political positions and campaign roles among all zones and factions to restore unity within the party.

The committee thanked the APC national leadership for entrusting them with the assignment and pledged to uphold fairness and credibility throughout the selection process.
