The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially welcomed veteran journalist and Ovation Magazine publisher, Dele Momodu, into its party, describing his move as the “right choice” ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Momodu, a former presidential aspirant, announced his decision to join the opposition coalition during a declaration event in Benin City, Edo State.
He stated that his alignment with the coalition is driven by a desire to collaborate with like-minded Nigerians to rescue and reposition the country, not by personal political ambition.
He also made it clear that he has no intention of contesting for any elective office, stressing that his focus is on contributing ideas and efforts toward addressing Nigeria’s challenges.
Reacting in a post on its verified X (formerly Twitter) handle, the ADC expressed satisfaction with Momodu’s decision, formally welcoming him into the party and praising his commitment to national renewal.
The development adds momentum to opposition realignments as political activities gradually build up ahead of the 2027 polls.
