Former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Najeem Salam, has emerged as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate for the 2026 Osun election.
Salam was selected through a consensus primary, polling 520 votes out of 528 delegates who participated in the exercise.
Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Chukwumeka Nwajuba, praised party members for their peaceful conduct and urged them to remain united in working toward victory at the polls.In his acceptance speech, Salam thanked ADC members for the trust reposed in him and pledged to “carry every member along” as the party intensifies efforts to win the governorship seat.
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) monitored the primary election.
