Abdul Samad Rabiu Pledges $1.5m Cash Reward to Super Eagles Ahead of AFCON Finals

Business mogul and philanthropist, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has pledged significant financial support to Nigeria’s Super Eagles as they continue their campaign in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Rabiu made the pledge on January 10, 2026, while congratulating the national team on their impressive victory against Algeria, a win he described as one that lifted the spirit of the nation.

In his message, the Chairman of BUA Group announced a reward of 500,000 US dollars to the players should they secure victory in the semi-final match. He further promised an additional 50,000 US dollars for every goal scored in the semi-final encounter.

The business leader also extended his support to the final stage of the competition, pledging 1 million US dollars to the team if they emerge champions of the tournament. In addition, he promised 100,000 US dollars for each goal scored in the final match.

Rabiu praised the players for making the country proud and encouraged them to remain focused as they carry Nigeria’s hopes forward in the competition. He expressed confidence in the team’s ability to succeed and reaffirmed his pride in being Nigerian.
